Installation Procedure

Install the drain plug (2).
Tighten: Tighten the drain plug to 33 N.m (24 lb ft).
Fill the front differential with lubricant. Use the proper fluid. Refer to Capacities - Approximate Fluid and Fluid and Lubricant Recommendations in Maintenance and Lubrication.
Install the fill plug (1).
Tighten: Tighten the fill plug to 33 N.m (24 lb ft).
Install the front differential carrier shield, if equipped. Refer to Engine Protection Shield Replacement in Frame and Underbody.
Lower the vehicle.
