Lower Control Arm: Installation

  1. Install the lower control arm to the rear suspension support assembly. See Figure.
    NOTE: Tighten the control arm nuts with the vehicle unsupported and resting on the wheels at the normal trim height.
  2. Install the lower control arm bolts and the nuts.
  3. Install the wheel bearing and hub, if necessary. See HUB & BEARING ASSEMBLY .
  4. Connect the anti-lock brake electrical connector.
  5. Install the adjustment link to the lower control arm. See Figure.
  6. Install the adjustment link retaining nut. Tighten the adjustment link retaining nut to 22 Ft. Lbs. (30 N.m) plus an additional 180 degrees.
  7. Install the stabilizer link bolt and the nut. See Figure. Tighten the stabilizer link nut to 11 Ft. Lbs. (15 N.m).
  8. Install the automatic level control height sensor link on the left control arm. See SUSPENSION SUPPORT ASSEMBLY .
  9. Install the rear suspension support assembly.
  10. Lower the vehicle and tighten the control arm nuts to 78 Ft. Lbs. (106 N.m).
