Removal Procedure
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
- Remove the assist step if equipped. Refer to Assist Step Replacement (Tubular BVE) or Assist Step Replacement (Removable U Step) .
- Remove the EVAP canister vent valve bracket. Refer to Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Vent Solenoid Valve Replacement in Engine Controls.
- Remove the mounting bolts.
- Remove the rocker panel protector from the vehicle.
