Removal Procedure

  1. Partially drain the fuel tank below the level of the fuel fill tube. Refer to Fuel Tank Draining Procedure .
  2. Raise and support the vehicle, high enough to access the fuel fill hose through the wheelhouse liner. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  3. Remove the left rear wheelhouse liner. Refer to Wheelhouse Panel Replacement .
  4. Remove the left rear wheelhouse flare. Refer to Wheel Opening Flare Replacement - Rear (Wheelhouse) or Wheel Opening Flare Replacement - Rear (Door Side) .

  6. Remove the bolt securing the fuel fill hose ground strap to the frame.

  8. Disconnect the fuel fill pipe vent line quick connect (1) from the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister. Refer to Quick Connect Fitting(s) Service (Plastic Collar) .

  10. Loosen the fuel fill pipe clamp (3).
  11. Remove the fuel fill hose from the fuel tank.
  12. Disconnect the fuel tank vent line (5) from the fuel fill pipe vent line (1). Refer to Quick Connect Fitting(s) Service (Plastic Collar) .

  14. Remove the fuel fill pipe bracket nuts.
  15. Remove the fuel fill pipe from the vehicle.
  16. Cap the open end of the fuel tank.
