Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2005 GMC Canyon and 2005 Chevrolet Colorado. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the lower control arm.

  3. Install the lower control arm bolts.

  5. Install the washer (front bolt only) with the shoulder facing the control arm.
  6. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
    IMPORTANT: The fasteners must be tightened in sequence. Tighten the rear nut first then the front nut.
  7. Install the nuts.

    Tighten: 

    • Tighten the rear nut to 180 N.m (133 lb ft).
    • Tighten the front nut to 165 N.m (122 lb ft).

  8. Install the steering knuckle. Refer to Steering Knuckle Replacement (2WD)  or Steering Knuckle Replacement (4WD) .
  9. Install the torsion bar. Refer to Torsion Bar Replacement (Bar)  or Torsion Bar Replacement (Anchor) .
  10. Install the shock absorber through bolt and nut. Refer to Shock Absorber Replacement (2WD)  or Shock Absorber Replacement (4WD) .
  11. Install the stabilizer shaft links to the lower control arm. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement .
  12. Lower the vehicle.
