Installation Procedure

  1. Connect the hood latch cable to the latch.

  2. Position the latch to the previously marked location on the radiator support.
    3. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the bolts which retain the latch to the radiator support.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  4. Install the hood latch support (3).
  5. Install the bolts which retain the latch support.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  6. Inspect the latch for proper operation before closing the hood.
  7. Inspect the alignment of the latch to the hood striker. Adjust the latch, if necessary. Refer to Hood Latch Adjustment  .
  8. Install the grille. Refer to Grille Replacement in Exterior Trim.
