Removal Procedure

    CAUTION: Refer to SIR Caution .
  1. Disable the SIR System. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
  2. Remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement (Non-SS)  or Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement (SS) .
  3. Remove the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement .
  4. Remove the steering column trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement .

  5. Disconnect the SIR harness.
  6. Remove the SIR coil (2) from the steering shaft.
  7. If replacing, discard the SIR coil.
