Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  3. If equipped with a LX9 engine, perform one of the following steps:

  5. Remove the front lower control arm bushing to frame bolt and nut.
  6. Remove the rear lower control arm bushing to frame bolts and nuts.

  8. Prior to removal, note the orientation of the lower control arm ball stud to steering knuckle pinch bolt and remove the pinch bolt and discard.
  9. Separate the ball stud from the steering knuckle.

  11. Remove the control arm from the vehicle.
  12. Remove the rear lower control arm bushing. Refer to Front Lower Control Arm Bushing Replacement .
