Removal Procedure

- Inspect the brake fluid level in the brake master cylinder reservoir.
- If the brake fluid is midway between the maximum-full point and the minimum allowable level, no brake fluid needs to be removed from the reservoir before proceeding.
- If the brake fluid level is higher than midway between thew maximum-full point and the minimum allowable level, using an appropriate tool, remove the brake fluid to the midway point before proceeding.
- Remove the wheel hub/speed sensor assembly. Refer to Wheel Hub/Speed Sensor Replacement .
- Using 2 pieces of wood, support the wheel hub/brake rotor assembly.
- Remove the wheel hub/speed sensor to brake rotor bolts.
- Separate the brake rotor from the wheel bearing/hub assembly.
- Clean the surface between the wheel bearing/hub assembly and the brake rotor.
IMPORTANT:
In the following service procedure, support the wheel hub/brake rotor assembly with wood when working on the bench.
