Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2010 Cadillac STS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the VES actuator.
- Ignition ON for 10 seconds, test for 5.0-7.0 volts between the low control circuit terminal 2 and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the control circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the EBCM.
- If less than the specified range, test the control circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the EBCM.
- Test for B+ between the high control circuit terminal 1 and ground.
- If not the specified value, test the control circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the EBCM.
- If all circuits test normal, test or replace the VES actuator.
