Removal Procedure

- Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
- Remove the grille. Refer to Grille Replacement .
- Loosen the fasteners (1) retaining the front discriminating sensors to the radiator support.
- Remove the sensor assembly from the radiator support.
- Position the sensor assembly, to gain access to the electrical connector.
- Remove the connector-position assurance (CPA) from the sensor electrical connector.
- Disconnect the sensor electrical connector.
- Remove the sensor from the vehicle.
CAUTION:
Do not strike or jolt the inflatable restraint front end sensor. Before applying power to the front end sensor make sure that it is securely fastened. Failure to observe the correct installation procedure could cause SIR deployment, personal injury, or unnecessary SIR system repairs.
