Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the accessory drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement - Accessory .
  2. Remove the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement (LLR) or Generator Replacement (LH8) .
  3. Place drain pans under the vehicle.
  4. Remove as much power steering fluid from the power steering fluid reservoir as possible.
  5. Disconnect the power steering gear inlet and outlet hose. Refer to Power Steering Gear Inlet and Outlet Hose Replacement (LLR)  or Power Steering Gear Inlet and Outlet Hose Replacement (LH8) .
  6. Remove the engine wiring harness bracket bolt.
  7. Reposition the engine wiring harness bracket out of the way.

  9. Remove the generator bracket bolts (1) and generator bracket (2) with the power steering pump and power steering fluid reservoir assembly attached.

  11. Remove the power steering pump pulley (1). Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement (LLR)  or Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement (LH8) .
  12. Remove the power steering pump bolts (2).
  13. Remove the power steering pump and power steering pump fluid reservoir assembly (3) from the generator bracket.
  14. Separate the power steering pump and the power steering fluid reservoir. Refer to Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement .
