Installation Procedure

  1. Install the power steering fluid reservoir to the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement (LH9) .

  2. Install the power steering pump and the power steering fluid reservoir (3) as an assembly to the generator bracket.
    3. CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  3. Install the power steering pump bolts (2) and tighten to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
  4. Install the power steering pump pulley (1) to the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement (LH9)  or Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement (LLR) .

  5. Install the generator bracket (2) with the power steering pump and the power steering fluid reservoir as an assembly.
  6. Install the generator bracket bolts (1) and tighten to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
  7. Reposition the engine wiring harness bracket.
  8. Install the engine wiring harness bracket bolt and tighten to 40 N.m (30 lb ft).
  9. Connect the power steering gear inlet and outlet hoses to the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Gear Inlet and Outlet Hose Replacement (LH9)  or Power Steering Gear Inlet and Outlet Hose Replacement (LLR) .
  10. Install the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement (LLR) or Generator Replacement (LH8) .
  11. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
  12. Clean any excess power steering fluid from the vehicle.
  13. Remove the drain pans.
