Front Wiper/Washer Switch Test

  1. Wiper/washer switch is incorporated within multifunction switch, mounted on steering column. Test continuity of wiper switch circuits with switch in position indicated in table. See WIPER/WASHER SWITCH CONTINUITY TEST  .
  2. Ensure continuity exists between terminals listed. Check connector and terminal cavity identification. SeeFig 1 , Fig 2 , Fig 3 or Fig 4 . For terminal descriptions, See STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES article in the ACCESSORIES/SAFETY EQUIPMENT Section.

(1) Continuity should exist between the terminals listed.
(2) A resistor in circuit should fluctuate resistance between terminals No. 9 and 10 (Elantra), terminals No. 16 and 13 (Excel), terminals No. 9 and 13 (Scoupe), or terminals No. 9 and 10 (Sonata).
