No Malfunction Indicator (Check Engine) Light

1. Turn ignition switch to ON position. If MIL light on instrument panel does not illuminate, inspect bulb. Replace bulb if faulty. If bulb is okay, inspect ECM fuse (No. 16) and connector. Replace fuse if faulty. If light still will not illuminate, check power supply circuit.
2. Inspect fuse No. 13 and connector. Replace fuse if faulty. If fuse is okay, turn ignition off. Remove fuse No. 13 from fuse panel. Using ohmmeter, check continuity between Blue/Black wire of fuse No. 13 terminal and Blue/Red wire of MIL receptacle. If continuity does not exist, inspect and repair circuit as needed.
3. If MIL power supply circuit has continuity, inspect MIL ground circuit. Disconnect ECM harness connector. Using ohmmeter, check continuity between Black/Light Green wire of MIL receptacle and ECM harness connector terminal No. 2. See Fig 1 . If continuity does not exist, inspect and repair circuit as needed.
4. If MIL ground circuit has continuity, substitute ECM with known good unit and retest system.
