Abs Bleeding Procedure

Connect Hyundai Multi-Use Tester (MUT) to diagnostic connector located in fuse box on driver's side kick panel and to cigarette lighter socket. See Fig 1 .

Turn ignition switch to ON position. MUT should be activated. Place clear plastic tube onto modulator assembly bleed screw No. 1. See Fig 2 . Place other end of plastic tube into container partly filled with fresh brake fluid.
CAUTION: Fluid is under high pressure. DO NOT bleed without hose attached.
Apply a constant light pressure on brake pedal. Use MUT to actuate Right Front Build/Decay valves (RF B/D) and Left Rear Build/Decay valves (LR B/D). See ABS MODULATOR ASSEMBLY BLEEDING table. This will bleed right front and left rear fluid sump.
Open bleed screw. As valve cycles, fluid and air will emerge and the pedal will fall slightly. Observe fluid flow. Flow is cycled on and off with MUT. When pedal drops and if it is necessary to reapply pedal, close bleed screw before releasing pedal.
When fluid flows with no air bubbles, close bleed screw and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS TABLE. Proceed with No. 2 bleed screw and components (left front sump and right rear sump).
When No. 2 bleeding is complete, continue with No. 3 and 4 using MUT to cycle appropriate Isolation (ISO) valve or Build/Decay (B/D) valve. Tighten all bleed screws to specification.
