Air Bag Module: Removal
- Before proceeding, follow air bag service precautions. See AIR BAG SERVICE PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
- Air bag module is located on steering wheel hub. Using a socket, remove 4 mounting nuts accessible from back side of air bag module. Tilt air bag module downward. Using a screwdriver, gently pry clockspring connector lock tabs outward to disconnect clockspring connector. See Fig 1 .
