Failure Conditions
ECM will monitor knock sensor for 4 seconds under following conditions:
- Starter is not engaged.
- Engine speed is more than 2520 RPM.
- Engine coolant temperature is more than 122°F (50°C).
- Engine load is greater than 2.5 milliseconds.
ECM will set DTC if, during 2 consecutive drive cycles, knock sensor's output voltage drops to less than .65 volt. This indicates an unexpected vibration is being read by knock sensor or ECM under normal engine operation.
