1.6 DOHC DETECTING CONDITION

Item Detecting Condition Possible cause
Monitoring Strategy
  • Rationality check
  • Poor connection of MAP sensor
  • Faulty MAP sensor
  • Faulty TPS
  • Dirty air cleaner
  • Leakage in intake system
  • Contact resistance in connections.
  • Faulty PCM
Case 1 Threshold value
  • Intake manifold pressure: >Max. Threshold or < Min. Threshold (Eng.speed, TPS)
Enable Conditions
  • No TPS error detected
Case 2 Threshold value
  • Intake manifold pressure < 400hPa
Enable Conditions
  • Engine speed = 0
Case 3 Threshold value
  • Intake manifold pressure - ambient pressure < 20hPa
Enable Conditions
  • Engine speed >800 RPM
Diagnostic Time
  • 5 sec
Fail Safe
  • MAP value is substituted by MAP'S model value.
  • TPS limp home mode.
  • Engine speed limitation.
  • Minimum operation of EVAP control.
NOTE: If any codes relating to TPS are present, do all repairs associated with before proceeding this troubleshooting procedure.
