Inspection Procedures

CHECK DTC RELEVANT TO TPS
1. Connect Hi-Scan (Pro) to data link connector.
2. Turn ignition to ON and monitor other DTCs.
Are any DTC relating to TPS set?

No: Go to next step.

Yes: Do all repairs associated with those codes before proceeding with this procedure.
CHECK INTAKE SYSTEM
1. Inspect the intake system for the following items:
- Air leakage
- Connection of each component
Are these items okay?

Yes: Go to next step.

No: Repair or replace it.
CHECK TPS
1. Turn ignition switch to OFF and disconnect TPS connector.
2. Measure resistance between the terminals 2 and 3 of TPS connector.
3. Measure resistance between the terminals 1 and 2 of TPS connector.

- Refer to SPECIFICATIONS for more information
Is resistance within specification?

Yes: Proceed with ECM PROBLEM PROCEDURE .

No: Replace TPS.
