DESCRIPTION

The current Sonata, Entourage, Elantra and Veracruz shop manuals do not provide the Occupant Classification System reset procedure using the GDS tool. This bulletin provides the procedure to reset the Occupant Classification System's electronic control unit (referred to as WCS (Weight Classification System) ECU on the GDS display screen) using the GDS tool. This reset procedure should be performed after replacing the front passenger seat cover, seat cushion pad, or seat cushion assembly.

Please write this TSB number at the bottom of the appropriate pages in the Shop Manuals, under the Restraints Section (RT), for future reference.

NOTE: Refer to the Owner's Manual section "Occupant Classification System" or the Service Shop Manual, under the Restraints Section, for details regarding the WCS ECU and diagnosis.
