DESCRIPTION

This bulletin provides the procedure for reprogramming Veracruz Smart Keys.

NOTE: Only two (2) Smart Keys can be programmed to the vehicle.
NOTE: Once the 1st key is taught, the customer's 2nd key needs to be taught at the same time or it will not start the vehicle.

Model: Veracruz (EN) (with Smart Key)

SMART KEY REPROGRAMMING PROCEDURE

  1. Connect the GDS unit to the vehicle and select the vehicle model and PIC (Smart Key Code Saving) option from the VIN screen.

  2. From the GDS home screen select System Options.

  3. Select Smart Key Saving from the System Option screen.

  4. Insert the 1st Smart Key into the ignition switch (MSL) and press OK.
    NOTE: The ignition switch does NOT have to be in the "On" position.

  5. Enter the 6 digit PIN code obtained from the Hyundai Dealer website and press OK. You will be prompted twice, asking you if you are sure you want to continue. Press OK at each prompt to continue or press Cancel to exit Smart Key Teaching.

  6. After the 1st key teaching has been completed, a screen will ask if you want to teach the 2nd key. Press OK to begin the 2nd key teaching.
    NOTE: If the customer's 2nd Smart Key is not taught at this time the vehicle can not be started when the 2nd Smart Key is tried or (2nd key will be deprogrammed/disabled).

  7. Insert the 2nd key when prompted and press OK.

  8. When 2nd key teaching has been completed, the screen shown to the right appears, press OK.

  9. A screen showing that the Smart Key Teaching has been completed will open (Picture A) and it will show how many Smart Keys have been taught. This information can also be found in the Current Data Screen (Picture B).
  10. Confirm operation of both Smart Keys
