Check DTC status
- Check DTC on PDM side with scantool.
- Check that there is any DTC on PDM side or ESCL side.
- Inspect DTC related ESCL first if there is any DTC on the PDM side according to DTC troubleshooting guide.
- After inspection and repair, erase DTC related ESCL.
- Erase DTC B1971 ESCL failure on IPM side.
- It is case that DTC is set on PDM although it is not ESCL fault as follows
- No battery voltage to PDM
- Short to battery in power relay on the PDM line such as ACC, IGN1, IGN2, Starter Rly
- When actuation test for PDM
- It is leant status but not with same PIN code for all IPM/PDM/ESCL
- It is case that DTC is set on PDM although it is not ESCL fault as follows
- Has the DTC gone after erasing DTC with scantool?
YES
- Check poor connection between harness connector and ESCL, PDM or IPM : Thoroughly check the looseness, poor connection, bent, corrosion, contamination, deformation or damage of connector. Repair or replace as necessary and then, go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
NO
- Go to CHECK CURRENT DATA as follows if there is DTC B1971 ESCL failure
