- IG "ON" & ENG "OFF"
- After connect GDS, select "Oscilloscope" mode.
- Measure the signal waveform on IPM and ECM Serial Communication line.
- Does the measured signal waveform follow the specification?
YES
Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in IPM's and/or ECM's connector or was repaired and IPM memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
NO
Check open or short on the communication line between ECM and IPM.
Repair as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR ".
If there is no something wrong, substitute with a known - good ECM and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace the unit and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
