Removal and Installation

  1. Disconnect the battery negative terminal (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    (-) terminal: 4.0 ~ 6.0 N.m (0.4 ~ 0.6 kgf.m, 3.0 ~ 4.4 lb-ft)

  2. Remove the engine cover (B).
  3. Remove the air duct (C).

  4. Disconnect the breather hose (A), air intake hose (B) and then remove the air cleaner assembly (C).

    Tightening torque 

    Hose clamp bolt:

    2.9 ~ 4.9 N.m (0.3 ~ 0.5 kgf.m, 2.2 ~ 3.6 lb-ft)

    Air cleaner assembly bolts:

    7.8 ~ 11.8 N.m (0.8 ~ 1.2 kgf.m, 5.8 ~ 8.7 lb-ft)

  5. Loosen the drain plug (A), and drain the coolant. Remove the radiator cap to speed draining.

  6. Remove the radiator upper hose (A).

  7. Disconnect the OCV connector (A).

  8. Disconnect the VIS connector (A), the oil pressure switch (B), the knock sensor connector (C), the A/C compressor switch connector (D) and the alternator connector (E).

  9. Disconnect the Injector connectors (A).

  10. Disconnect the VCM connector (A).

  11. Disconnect the ETC connector (A) and the MAP & IATS connector (B).

  12. Disconnect the PCV hose (A).

  13. Disconnect the fuel hose (A).

  14. Disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose (A), PCSV hose (B) and the throttle body coolant hoses (C).

  15. Remove the intake manifold stay (A) and then disconnect the sensor connectors from the mounting bracket.

    Tightening torque: 

    18.6 ~ 23.5 N.m (1.9 ~ 2.4 kgf.m, 13.7 ~ 17.4 lb-ft)

  16. Remove the intake manifold (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    Bolts & Nuts: 18.6 ~ 23.5 N.m (1.9 ~ 2.4 kgf.m, 13.7 ~ 17.4 lb-ft)

  17. Installation is reverse order of removal.
