Repair Procedures: Disassembly

Disconnect the M-terminal (A) on the starter solenoid assembly (B).

After loosening the 3 screws (A), detach the starter solenoid assembly (B).

Loosen the through bolts (A).

Remove the brush holder assembly (C), the yoke (B), the armature (C) and the rear housing (D).

Remove the lever packing (A) and the lever plate (B).

Remove the shield (A) and the packing (B).

Remove the planet gear (A).

Remove the planet shaft assembly (A) and the lever (B).

Press the stopper (A) using a socket (B).

Remove the stop ring (A) using the stop ring pliers (B).

Remove the stopper (A), overrunning clutch (B), internal gear (C) and planet shaft (D).

NOTE: Using a suitable pulling tool (A), pull the overrunning clutch stop ring (B) over the stopper (C).

Reassembly is the reverse of disassembly.
