Component Inspection

IG "OFF".
IG "ON".
Connect GDS and select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)" mode.
Using a GDS, Clear DTC.
Select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)" mode again.
Are any DTCs present?
YES
- Substitute with a known-good EPS ECU and check for proper operation.
  If the problem is corrected, replace EPS ECU and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.
  
  * In a case of replacing the EPS ECU, operate "Steering Angle Sensor Calibration" by GDS in EPS system.
- Substitute with a known-good HECU and check for proper operation. If problem is corrected, replace HECU and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.
  NOTE:
  * In a case of replacing HECU, operate following functions
  1. "Steering Angle Sensor Calibration" for steering angle sensor offset correction (refer to C1261 ) - ESC only
  2. "Longitudinal Sensor Calibration" for Longitudinal sensor offset correction (refer to C1285 ) - ESC only
NO
- Fault is intermittent caused by poor connection in CAN signal harness and/or HECU's connector. Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.
