Component Inspection

■ Output speed sensor waveform Inspection

  1. Connect "A/T solenoid valve" connector and GDS to Data Link Connector (DLC).
  2. Engine ON and operate Input speed sensor.
  3. Measure waveform between signal of Output speed sensor harness and chassis ground.

    Specification:  See specification waveform below

  4. Is the measured waveform within specifications?

    YES

    • Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.

    NO

    • Go to "PCM/TCM Inspection" procedure below.

■ PCM/TCM Inspection

  1. Ignition off & Engine Off.
  2. Disconnect "ATM solenoid valve connector.
  3. Connect GDS to Data Link Connector (DLC) and select Simulation mode.
  4. Input specification frequency to signal of Output speed sensor by simulation mode.

    * The values are subject to change according to vehicle model or conditions.

  5. Is measured Output speed sensor value changed by Output frequency?

    YES

    NO

    • Substitute with a known-good PCM/TCM and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace PCM/TCM and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.
