Component Inspection
- Ignition "OFF".
- Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF".
- Connect GDS and select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)" mode.
- Using a GDS, Clear DTC.
- Select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)" mode again.
- Are any DTCs present?
YES
- Substitute with a known-good steering column & EPS ECU assembly check for proper operation. If problem is corrected, replace steering column & EPS ECU assembly and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
NO
- Fault is intermittent caused by faulty EPS ECU or was repaired and EPS ECU memory was not cleared.
- Go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
