Monitor GDS Data
■ EPS Type recognition
- Connect GDS to Data Link Connector (DLC).
- Ignition "OFF" and then Ignition "ON".
- Choose the area type (Fig 1).
- Ignition "OFF" & Waiting 20 sec.
- Ignition "ON".
- Select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC)" mode again.
- Are any DTCs present?
YES
- Substitute with a known-good steering column & EPS ECU assembly check for proper operation.
- If problem is corrected, replace steering column & EPS ECU assembly and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
NO
- Fault is intermittent caused by faulty EPS ECU or was repaired and EPS ECU memory was not cleared.
- Go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
