Repair Procedures: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
CAUTION: The hybrid system uses DC 270V high voltage. So, be sure to follow safety instructions below. Otherwise, there may be a serious injury or electrocution (Refer to "GENERAL SAFETY INFORMATION AND CAUTION ").
  1. Make sure vehicle does not roll before setting shift lever to "N" position.
  2. Shut off the high voltage circuit (Refer to "HIGH VOLTAGE SHUTOFF PROCEDURES ").
  3. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
  4. Remove the HPCU (Refer to Hybrid Control System - "HYBRID POWER CONTROL UNIT ")
  5. Remove the Hybrid Power Control Unit (HPCU) tray (A).

  6. Disconnect the inhibitor switch connector (A).
  7. Remove the shift cable mounting nut (B).

  8. Remove the manual control lever (B) and the washer after removing a nut (A).

  9. Remove the inhibitor assembly (A) after removing the bolts.
