Repair Procedures: Removal

  1. Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
  2. Remove the air duct (A).

  3. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
    1. Disconnect the Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAFS) connector (A).
    2. Separate the bleeder hose (B).
    3. Separate the intake hose (C).
    4. Remove the air cleaner assembly (D).

      Tightening torque: 

      Intake hose clamp: 2.9 - 4.9 N.m (0.3 - 0.5 kgf.m, 2.2 - 3.6 lb-ft)

      Air cleaner mounting bolt: 7.8 - 9.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.0 kgf.m, 5.8 - 7.2 lb-ft)

  4. Disconnect the electronic shift actuator connector (A).
  5. Disconnect the position sensor connector (B).

  6. Loosen the mounting bolts and then removing the electronic shift actuator (A).

  7. Loosen the mounting bolts (A) and then removing the position sensor (B).
