Repair Procedures: Removal
- Turn the steering wheel so that the front wheels can face straight ahead.
- Disconnect the battery negative cable and wait for at least three minutes before beginning work.
- Remove the driver airbag module by putting in a flat tool (Ø5 mm) into the guide hole and then press the fixed wire.NOTE:
- When put a tool into a hole, make sure not to damage an airbag cushion by a tool.
- Turn a steering wheel anti-clockwise, so make a guide hole (A) shown on the right side.
Put a tool into a hole (a) and bend back a fixed DAB spring.
Make sure to pull DAB cover when bend back the spring.
- Release the connector locking, then disconnect the driver airbag module connector (A) and horn connector (B).NOTE:
- The removed airbag module should be stored in a clean, dry place with the pad cover facing up.
- Remove the steering wheel and steering wheel column shroud (A).

- Disconnect the clock spring and horn connector, then remove the clock spring (A).
- Separate the fixed hooks (3 places) and remove the clock spring.
