Component Inspection: ECM

  1. Ignition switch is turned 'OFF'.
  2. Select 'vehicle scopemeter' in the menu, and connect channel A of GDS with FR terminal of Alternator harness connector.
  3. Connect Channel B of GDS with C terminal of Alternator harness connector.
  4. Start the engine and check the signal waveforms. (by electrical loads ON and OFF)
  5. Is the measured signal waveforms of Alternator normal?

    YES 

    • Go to "Alternator check" procedure below.

    NO 

    • Substitute with a known-good ECM and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace ECM and go to "Verification Of Repair " procedure.
