Repair Procedures: Removal

  1. Turn the steering wheel so that the front wheels can face straight ahead.
  2. Disconnect the battery negative cable and wait for at least three minutes before beginning work.
  3. Putting in a flat tool (Ø5 mm) into the guide hole (A) and then release the DAB fixing pin.

    NOTE:
    • When put a tool into a hole, make sure not to damage an airbag cousin by a tool.
    • After inserting the tool (A), press the DAB fixed pin (B) in the direction of the arrow as illustration below.

  4. Release the connector locking, then disconnect the driver airbag module connector (A) and horn connector (B).

    NOTE:
    • The removed airbag module should be stored in a clean, dry place with the pad cover facing up.
  5. Remove the steering wheel and steering wheel column shroud (A). (Refer to Steering System - "STEERING COLUMN AND SHAFT ")
  6. Disconnect the clock spring and horn connector, then remove the clock spring (A).

  7. Separate the fixed hooks (3 places) and remove the clock spring.
