Repair Procedures: Removal
- Release the residual pressure in fuel line.
(Refer to Fuel Delivery System - "RELEASE RESIDUAL PRESSURE IN FUEL LINE ")
- Disconnect the battery (-) terminal.
- Remove the rear seat cushion.
(Refer to Body - "REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY REPAIR PROCEDURES ")
- Remove the fuel pump service cover (A).
- Disconnect the fuel pump control module connector (A).
- Disconnect the fuel pressure sensor connector (B).
- Disconnect the fuel feed tube quick-connector (C).
- Disconnect the fuel tank pressure sensor (A).
- Lift the vehicle.
- Remove the center muffler assembly.
(Engine Mechanical System - "Muffler")
- Remove the canister assembly.
(Refer to Emission Control System - "CANISTER ")
- Disconnect the fuel filler hose (A).
- Disconnect the ventilation tube (B).
- Disconnect the leveling hose quick connector (C).
- Remove the side under cover (A).
- Support the fuel tank with a jack.
- Remove the fuel tank from the vehicle after removing the fuel tank band nuts (A).
Tightening torque:
39.2 - 54.0 N.m (4.0 - 5.5 kgf.m, 28.9 - 39.8 lb-ft)
NOTE:- When removing the fuel tank, the fuel tank must be tilted because of interfering with coupling.
