Repair Procedures: Removal

  1. Release the residual pressure in fuel line.

    (Refer to Fuel Delivery System - "RELEASE RESIDUAL PRESSURE IN FUEL LINE ")

  2. Disconnect the battery (-) terminal.
  3. Remove the rear seat cushion.

    (Refer to Body - "REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY REPAIR PROCEDURES ")

  4. Remove the fuel pump service cover (A).

  5. Disconnect the fuel pump control module connector (A).
  6. Disconnect the fuel pressure sensor connector (B).
  7. Disconnect the fuel feed tube quick-connector (C).

  8. Disconnect the fuel tank pressure sensor (A).

  9. Lift the vehicle.
  10. Remove the center muffler assembly.

    (Engine Mechanical System - "Muffler")

  11. Remove the canister assembly.

    (Refer to Emission Control System - "CANISTER ")

  12. Disconnect the fuel filler hose (A).
  13. Disconnect the ventilation tube (B).

  14. Disconnect the leveling hose quick connector (C).

  15. Remove the side under cover (A).

  16. Support the fuel tank with a jack.
  17. Remove the fuel tank from the vehicle after removing the fuel tank band nuts (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    39.2 - 54.0 N.m (4.0 - 5.5 kgf.m, 28.9 - 39.8 lb-ft)

    NOTE:
    • When removing the fuel tank, the fuel tank must be tilted because of interfering with coupling.
