Carrier Assembly: Removal

CAUTION:
  • Put on gloves to prevent hand injuries.
NOTE:
  • When removing using a remover, be careful not to damage the parts.
  • Take care not to bend or scratch the trim and panels.
  1. Disconnect the 12V battery (-) terminal.

    (Refer to Vehicle Control System - " AUXILIARY BATTERY (12V)  ") 

  2. Drain the motor coolant.

    (Refer to Motor Cooling System - " MOTOR COOLANT  ") 

  3. Drain the high voltage battery coolant.

    (Refer to High Voltage Battery Cooling System - " HIGH VOLTAGE BATTERY COOLANT  ") 

  4. Recover the refrigerant with a recovery/recycling/charging station.

    (Refer to Heating, Ventilation And Air Conditioning - " REFRIGERANT RECOVERY/RECYCLING/CHARGING/VACUUM  ") 

  5. Remove the front bumper beam assembly.

    (Refer to Front End Module -  "FRONT BUMPER BEAM ASSEMBLY ")

  6. Disconnect the suction & liquid line (A), after removing the nuts.

    Tightening torque: 

    8.8 - 13.7 N.m (0.9 - 1.4 kgf.m, 6.5 - 10.1 lb-ft)

  7. Disconnect the EWP hose (A) and reservoir tank hose (B).

  8. Disconnect the hood latch cable (A).

  9. Disconnect the water condenser hose (A).

  10. Disconnect the FIS connector (A).

  11. Disconnect the front end module main connector (A).

  12. Remove the front end module lower bolts.

    Tightening torque: 

    7.8 - 11.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.2 kgf.m, 5.8 - 8.7 lb-ft)

  13. Remove the carrier assembly (A) from the body.

  14. Remove the stiffener assembly.

    (Refer to Front End Module -  "STIFFENER ASSEMBLY ")

  15. Remove the horn.

    (Refer to Front End Module -  "HORN ")

  16. Remove the smart key buzzer.

    (Refer to Security & Vehicle Ignition System - " SMART KEY SYSTEM  ") 

  17. Remove the condenser.

    (Refer to Heating, Ventilation And Air Conditioning - " CONDENSER  ") 

  18. Remove the radiator.

    (Refer to Cooling System - " RADIATOR  ") 

  19. Remove the hood latch.

    (Refer to Hood - " HOOD LATCH  ")
