Switch Test: Sub-Switches

  1. Unplug power window sub-switch harness connector. Backprobe affected LCU (LCU01B - Front Left; LCU02B - Front Right; LCU03 - Right Rear; LCU04 - Left Rear) harness connector terminals No. 4 and 5, and sub-switch harness connector terminals No. 2 and 3. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair harness between affected sub-switch and LCU.
  2. Turn ignition on. Check voltage between sub-switch harness connector terminal No. 1 and ground. Battery voltage should exist. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, check harness for open or shorted circuit.
  3. Turn ignition off. Reconnect sub-switch harness connector. Turn ignition on. Using DVOM connected to ground, backprobe sub-switch harness connector terminal No. 4. Push UP position on switch. Battery voltage should exist. Backprobe sub-switch harness connector terminal No. 5. Push DOWN position on switch. Battery voltage should exist. If voltage readings are not as specified, replace power window sub-switch.
