DTC P0705 - Inhibitor/Neutral Position Switch
NOTE:
Steps 4-6 are for M/T models. For A/T models, go to step 1.
- Check Ground Circuit
Turn ignition off. Disconnect inhibitor switch wiring harness connector. See Fig 1. Check continuity between connector terminal "b" (Black wire) and body ground. See Fig 2. If continuity is present, go to next step. If continuity is not present, repair harness or connectors as necessary. - Check Input Signal Circuit
Check continuity between switch connector terminal "a" (Brown/White wire) and ECM harness connector terminal No. 22. See Fig 3. If continuity is not present, repair harness or connectors as necessary. - Check Component
Ensure inhibitor switch is not damaged or contaminated. Check neutral position switch and ECM harness connectors for damage, corrosion or pushed-out pins. Repair if necessary. If no problems are found, replace inhibitor switch.NOTE: Steps 1-3 are for A/T models. For M/T models, go to step 4. - Check Ground Circuit
Turn ignition off. Disconnect neutral position switch wiring harness connector. See Fig 4. Check continuity between connector terminal "a" (Black wire) and body ground. See Fig 5. If continuity is present, go to next step. If continuity is not present, repair harness or connectors as necessary. - Check Input Signal Circuit
Check continuity between switch connector terminal "b" (Brown/White wire) and ECM harness connector terminal No. 22. See Fig 6. If continuity is not present, repair harness or connectors as necessary. - Check Component
Ensure neutral position switch is not damaged or contaminated. Check neutral position switch and ECM harness connectors for damage, corrosion or pushed-out pins. Repair if necessary. If no problems are found, replace neutral position switch.
