Diagnostic Procedure 7

  1. Check multi-remote control relays No. 1 and 2. Relays are located in engine compartment relay box. Replace as necessary. If relays are okay, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect multi-remote control relay No. 1 harness connector. Check voltage between relay No. 1, terminal No. 1 and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAM . Battery voltage should be present. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, check fuse No. 11, or check harness for open or shorted circuit. Repair or replace as necessary.
  3. Disconnect theft warning relay No. 1 harness connector. Relay is located in engine compartment relay box. Check voltage between relay terminals No. 3 and 5, and terminals No. 6 and 7. See WIRING DIAGRAM . Battery voltage should be present. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, check harness for open or shorted circuit.
  4. Disconnect BCM harness connector. Check voltage between BCM harness connector terminals No. 3 and 11 or terminals No. 6 and 11. Battery voltage should be present. If battery voltage is not present, check harness for open or short between multi-remote control relay and BCM. If battery is present, diagnose multi-remote control system. See MULTI-REMOTE CONTROL SYSTEM article.
