Fail-Safe System

The driver's seat control module (LCU05) and BCM control and monitor ADP system functions. After the ADP system has been operated, the appropriate control module monitors position of seat and steering column using input from seat and steering column sensors. If control module detects that seat movement has occurred forward or backward greater than .240" (6 mm) within 2.5 seconds, ADP system will be set in fail-safe mode. Fail-safe mode is also set when seat reclines or steering column tilts greater than one degree within 2.5 seconds. Fail-safe mode is canceled when gear selector lever is moved back to "P" position, or when ADP system is diagnosed using Nissan CONSULT scan tool.
