Idle Speed
- Check for any stored DTCs. See appropriate TESTS W/CODES
articles below:
- For I30, see TESTS W/CODES article.
- For Q45, see TESTS W/CODES article.
Warm engine to normal operating temperature. Turn engine off. Disconnect Throttle Position (TP) sensor connector and restart engine.
- Check idle speed. See IDLE SPEED table. If idle speed is not within specification, snap throttle to 2000-3000 RPM, 2 or 3 times, under no-load and then allow engine to return to idle. Check idle speed and adjust if necessary.
- Locate idle speed adjustment screw. See Fig 1 or Fig 2 . Rotate idle adjusting screw decrease idle speed and increase idle speed. Snap throttle to 2000-3000 RPM, 2 or 3 times, under no-load and then allow engine to return to idle. Check that idle speed is with in specification. See IDLE SPEED table.
- Turn engine off. Reconnect throttle position sensor connector and restart engine. Run engine at 2000 RPM for about 2 minutes under no load, and then allow engine to return to idle. Idle speed should be as specified. Clear any DTCs set during adjustment. See appropriate TESTS W/CODES
articles below:
- For I30, see TESTS W/CODES article.
- For Q45, see TESTS W/CODES article.
