ASCD Steering Switch Check
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect ASCD control unit harness connector. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. With ASCD steering switch in indicated positions, check voltage at specified ASCD control unit harness connector terminal. See ASCD STEERING SWITCH VOLTAGE SPECIFICATIONS table. See Figure
. If voltage is as specified, ASCD steering switch is okay. If voltage is not as specified, go to next step.

- Press horn button. If horn operates, go to next step. If horn does not operate, check for the following and repair as necessary.
- Faulty fuse No. 54 (10-amp), located in relay box.
- Faulty horn relay. See WIRING DIAGRAMS
.
- Open or short between horn and fuse.
- Disconnect ASCD steering switch harness connector. With ASCD steering switch in indicated positions, check continuity between specified switch connector terminals. See ASCD STEERING SWITCH CONTINUITY table. See Fig 1
. If continuity is as specified, check for an open or short in harness between ASCD steering switch and ASCD control unit. If continuity is not as specified, replace ASCD steering switch.
