Door Switch Check

  1. Open driver's window. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position and remove key from ignition switch. Close all doors, hood and glass hatch. SECURITY light should turn off. Open any door or back door hatch. SECURITY light should flash in one-second intervals. If SECURITY light operates as described, door switch circuit is okay at this time. If SECURITY light does not operate as described, go to next step.
  2. Ensure ignition switch is in LOCK position. Using a voltmeter, backprobe appropriate terminals at Smart Entrance Control Unit (SECU) harness connector with appropriate door in appropriate position. Refer to the DOOR SWITCH INPUT VOLTAGE TEST  table. Also, see Figure . If voltage is not as specified, go to next step. If voltage is as specified, door switch input signals are okay at this time.
