Glass Hatch Switch Check

  1. Check Glass Hatch Switch Input Signal

    Ensure ignition is off. Using DVOM, measure voltage (backprobe) between ground and terminal No. 38 (Blue/White wire) at Smart Entrance Control Unit (SECU) harness connector. See Figure . Battery voltage should be present only when glass hatch is closed. With glass hatch open, reading should be zero volts. If voltage is as specified, glass hatch switch is okay. If voltage is not as specified, go to next step.
  2. Check Glass Hatch Switch

    Disconnect glass hatch switch harness connector. Using DVOM, check for continuity between glass hatch switch terminals. Ensure continuity is present only when glass hatch switch is released. If continuity is not as specified, replace glass hatch switch. If continuity is as specified, check for open or short circuit between glass hatch switch and SECU. Check glass hatch switch ground circuit. Repair as necessary.
