DTC Confirmation Test

Malfunction is detected when ECM receives an excessively low or high voltage from knock sensor. Possible causes are:

Knock sensor circuit open or shorted.
Defective knock sensor.

To set DTC, turn ignition on. Select DATA MONITOR with scan tool. Start engine and let it idle for at least 5 seconds. If DTC is detected, go to PROCEDURE .

NOTE: Freeze-frame data will not be stored in ECM for knock sensor malfunction. Knock sensor has one-trip detection logic.
