Ignition Switch (Start Signal): Altima
- Measure voltage between ground and ECM terminal No. 20 (Black/Yellow wire) by backprobing. See Figure and Figure . Turn ignition switch to START position. Battery voltage should exist. With ignition switch in any other position, about zero volts should exist. If voltage is as specified, go to step 4. If voltage is not as specified, go to next step.
- Check fuse No. 26 (10-amp) located in fuse block. Fuse block is located under left side of instrument panel. Replace fuse, if necessary. If fuse is okay, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect ECM harness connector. Remove fuse No. 26. Check continuity between ECM harness connector terminal No. 20 (Black/Yellow wire) and fuse No. 26 cavity in fuse block (fused circuit side). Also, check circuit for short to ground and short to voltage. Repair circuit as necessary. If circuit is okay, go to next step.
- No problem is indicated at this time. Problem may be intermittent. See INTERMITTENTS in TROUBLE SHOOTING - NO CODES article.
