DTC Confirmation Test "C" (Overall Function Check)
NOTE:
Use the following test to check overall function of AP sensor circuit. During this test, DTC may not be confirmed.
Malfunction is detected when ECM receives a low voltage from AP sensor under heavy-load driving conditions. Only possible cause is a defective AP sensor. Depending on equipment available, use one of the following to check overall function of AP sensor circuit:
- Using Scan Tool
Turn ignition on. Select MODE 1 on scan tool and observe MAP reading. MAP reading should be more than 6.7 psi (46 kPa). If MAP reading is not as specified, go to PROCEDURE "A" . - Using MIL
Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between engine ground and ECM terminal No. 61 by backprobing. See Figure and Figure . Voltage should be more than 1.74 volts. If voltage is not as specified, go to PROCEDURE "A" .
