DTC Confirmation Test

Malfunction is detected when ECM receives an excessively low or high voltage from FTT sensor, or when voltage received is rationally incorrect compared to ECT sensor and IAT sensor. Possible causes are:

• FTT sensor circuit open or shorted.
• Defective FTT sensor.

To set DTC, turn ignition on. Select DATA MONITOR with scan tool and wait at least 10 seconds. If DTC sets, go to PROCEDURE . If DTC does not set, check engine coolant temperature with scan tool. If engine coolant temperature is less than 194°F (90°C), DTC will not set. If engine coolant temperature is 194°F (90°C) or more, allow engine to cool until engine coolant temperature is less than 194°F (90°C). Wait at least 10 seconds.
