DTC Confirmation Procedure

NOTE: If DTC confirmation procedure has been previously conducted, always turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds before conducting the next test.
NOTE: Steps  3 and  4 may be conducted with the drive wheels lifted and supported in the shop or by driving the vehicle. If a road test is expected to be easier, it is unnecessary to lift the vehicle.

Using CONSULT-II Or GST

  1. Start engine.
  2. Select DATA MONITOR mode.
  3. Drive vehicle for at least 5 consecutive seconds at more than 19 MPH with selector lever in appropriate position. If DTC is detected, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . If DTC is not detected, go to next step.
  4. Drive vehicle for at least 5 consecutive seconds at more than 19 MPH with selector lever in appropriate position and depress the brake pedal for more than 5 seconds without decreasing vehicle speed.
  5. If DTC is detected, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . If DTC is not detected, system is okay at this time.
